Something crazy happened today!
So I was out on my morning walk (which I decided to cut short because it was too hot out side...) when I decided to get some juice at a vending machine. I mean, there's not much more to that. I guess if there was anything of note at this time it was that this vending machine was selling apple juice at 130yen, cheaper than the 150yen that other machines charge. And then...
No, I didn't buy two juices instead of one.
You see, vending machines in Japan will sometimes have a thing where if you get lucky they'll give you an extra drink. Basically, the little display that shows the price will display four numbers and if all four are the same you get the extra drink. However, neither me nor my family and friends have ever heard of someone they know getting lucky, let alone won themselves.
So color me surprised when the vending machine starts making rapid beeping noises and prompts me to choose another drink.
Not quite realizing what was going on, I chose another apple juice. And then it hit me that I had actually won the vending machine lottery.
In the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a deal, sure, but it was really cool that it happened to ME! Especially since I'm a pretty unlucky guy in other aspects of my life... This is probably the highlight of my year so far. LOL. Can't wait to tell everyone about it!
Oh my god, in the excitement of the vending machine saga I nearly forgot that I was going to write about a project I wrapped up last night. But eh, I can't post it publicly yet anyways because I'm gonna send it off to a film festival. Y'all will hear about it around October...
