Welcome to my HRSW Shrine

This is my shrine dedicated to the musician Susumu Hirasawa! Here you will find info about him that I’ve gathered over the years, plus my opinions on his works. I hope you enjoy your stay here, even though it’s quite chaotic material-wise!

ABOUT

Note: This is a very simplified explanation of his career and him as a person. Trying to keep it simple for the non-horsebones.

Susumu Hirasawa is a musician from Tokyo. He started his first band, Mandrake, in 1973, where his focus was on making progressive rock. Eventually, the break up of Mandrake led to the formation of P-MODEL in 1979; this would mark his debut into the mainstream music industry.

In 1989, Hirasawa started his Solo music career. While his work on P-MODEL leaned more on harsh techno/electronic sounds, his Solo music used more orchestral sounds. In the mid 90s, inspired by the trangender community in Thailand, he would continue to push his composing and vocal range to new heights.

P-MODEL went into indefinite hiatus in 2000. However, Hirasawa continued his endeavors with electronic music through his new alias Kaku P-MODEL. Beginning with the Vistoron album in 2004, he would continue releasing music under this name along with his Solo work until he announced the final Kaku P-MODEL album unZIP in 2025.

As of writing this, he continues to release new music regularly and will do live performances around once a year.
